Canada Day 2012
Wooo, so this past Canada Day weekend was fantastic. Thanks to some friends filming a documentary, I was given the opportunity to meet my favorite singer / songwriter / performer, Joel Plaskett. After the interview we grabbed some lunch, then headed to Officer's Square to take in the live music. When we arrived, The Belle Comedians were already well into their set. Awesome. After that was a country band called Southern Drive. Not my thing, but also pretty good. That's when we took our spot right in front of the stage where we stayed for the rest of the bands. She Roars played a great set, followed by the Westerberg Suicides (even more awesome) and then the finale, the Joel Plaskett Emergency. Unfortunately we arrived too late in the afternoon to catch Jaclyn Reinhart's performance. But I suspect it was also awesome.
Ok, so first up, a couple of shots from the side of the stage of the Belle Comedians.
And some photos of She Roars.
The Westerberg Suicides are by far my fav local band.
Ok ok ok ok, here are my Joel Plaskett Emergency photos. Oh, and in case you were wondering, most of these were taken with a Canon 55-250mm lens. That's why most of them only have one person in the shot.
Here's the set list!
